The Lexile Framework For Reading (Lexile.com.)  This is a free site that clearly explains the use of lexile (reading) scores for books and materials.  It also includes a search box to allow you to check the reading level of a particular title. 

Read, Write Think. Org:  This website is sponsored by the National Council of Teachers of English and the International Reading Association and provides supportive resources for classroom teachers and parents. 

Web English Teacher. comThis website provides resources for reading and language teaching.  There is an excellent list of author links under the "Children's Literature" link on its home page.

Google: Use this search engine to look for Web sites on for your author. including publisher sites and interviews. Enter author's name in quotes.
